Networking Headquarter
Where entrepreneurs can come and get inspired while also inspiring others
Fall 2023

Midtown Cleveland has multiple organizations dedicated to entrepreneurships, but lacks the boldness and promotion for it to succeed. For that reason, this renovation project aims to turn an abandoned brush factory into an attractive space for networking among said organizations. The existing building served as a blank palette due to its boxy shape. Most buildings around the site possess the same silhouette. To create visual interest, an outer metal standing seam layer was used to wrap around the existing geometry, but then it differentiates itself to create dynamic movement and extensions of space. The building’s large existing windows are used as a framework for modular co-working and storage spaces. The 1st floor contains displays of finished projects, as well as those in progress, to serve as promotion. The other floors contain all the facilities necessary for a full start-up process. Spaces are connected visually to display upcoming phases of the program. These visual connections aim to serve as motivation for those that are still starting up and those who want to start up. The lounge areas are meant for more casual interactions, in hopes to create a comfortable environment for social connections. The wide range of programs the building offers are sure to attract great designers looking to bring their ideas to life.
